Kalgoorlie-Boulder is famous as a gold mining town, and is home to Australia’s largest open cut gold mine, The Fimiston Open Pit or better known Super Pit. Visitors can witness the sheer magnitude of this 3.5 kilometre long, 1.5 kilometre wide and 500 metre deep pit from the Super Pit Lookout.
The town offers a range of historic attractions including Western Australia’s only operating pharmacy museum - the century old Boulder Pharmacy Museum, or learn about the regions involvements in the Boer War, WWI, WWII and the Vietnam War at the Goldfields War Museum and Information Centre.
